Aviano Music Composition Club
Permission Slip
What: We will be composing pieces of music that the school bands will premiere at our concert on February 26th.
When: There will be two teams: a Monday team and a Tuesday team. Each team will be writing their own piece of music as a group project. Students are permitted to join both teams if they wish (we’ll need alternative activities when I have to teach the same lesson that you have already learned). Every Monday and Tuesday from September 29th until December 1st (unless school is closed). We will meet after school at 1445 and finish at 1630. Both teams will meet eight times.
After we finish on December 1st, the pieces will be given to the school bands to rehearse. There may be a need to do some revisions after December 1st. We will have a few lunch or seminar meetings if this is necessary.
Where: We will be meeting in the music room. The stage will also be used when available.
Who: All 6th through 12th graders with at least one year experience on any instrument are welcome. Note reading is required. Students must come to class with a charged Chromebook, a mechanical pencil, and their instrument.
