Principal's Corner

Welcome to Aviano MHS

Dear Parents and Students,

The staff at Aviano Middle/High School is committed to providing a high quality education for all students. I believe that this year will be a very productive year as we continue our implementation of the College and Career Readiness Standards.

Our vision is simple and aligned to DoDEA’s mission- Educate, Engage, and Empower military-connected students to succeed in a dynamic world. This year we will focus on setting high expectations, supporting student learning, and providing opportunities for each student to demonstrate learning at high levels. The College and Career Readiness Standards set these expectations and through our weekly Thursday collaboration time we will plan together and learn research based instructional strategies that raise the level of rigor for our students.

Aviano currently has an enrollment of 353 students in grades 6-12. We have an ongoing commitment to student achievement by providing rigorous and engaging courses that will prepare our students to meet the challenges and demands of our global society.

In addition to our core classes, we offer a wide variety of classes including World Languages, Art, Music, Digital Imaging, Video Comm, JROTC, Yearbook, Business, STEM including Robotics and, Drama and as well as a robust selection of Advanced Placement classes to include our newest course AP Human Geography. We encourage your students to take advantage of participating in clubs, activities, and athletics as well.

At Aviano Middle/High School, we seek to build strong leadership ties with our teachers, students, parents and community members.

We encourage every student that walks our halls to take pride in their school and community - to engage in their education with dignity and respect - to make the right choices and show their uniqueness while demonstrating school spirit and pride.

Excellence in Education for Every Student, Every Day, Everywhere,

Dr. Mustapha Kahlouch - Principal
